HappiHatha Yoga

About me....
I began practising yoga 23 years ago as a means to relieve stress, re align my body and thoughts to be
'about me', after having my life changed through motherhood, new career path and re location back to my hometown of Whitley Bay.
Through the years that have followed, more factors challenged my well-being, the main one being menopause.
Yoga and the wider practice of meditation, Pranayama (breath work) and other forms of exercise ignited a greater interest in yoga. I started to read into the origins and history. I became intrigued by the philosophy of yoga, the sister science of Ayurveda and the deeper knowledge of muscle engagement and the physical aspects of the body through the Asanas. All of which helped me balance my body and mind off the mat as well as in my practice.

Wanting to teach yoga to others, became a desire to help and support others like me, who had become lost in a busy world and needed an approach to settle/ quieten the mind, yet encourage positivity through physical and mental state. As a teacher in secondary education it seemed a logical extension of my delivery of education. I have now embarked on dedicating my time solely to my teaching of yoga.
